On the 19th of July, 2014 on the territory of VDHKh, near “Moscow-850” Panoramic wheel an unprecedented charitable act “Day of Goodness” and celebration of the 20th anniversary of the amusement park “Wheel at VDNKh” were held by Pax Group of Companies with the support of Newsmakers Independent Association of Russia and “Downside-Up” charity fund.
The aim of the holiday which has already become an All-Russian holiday is to establish positive attitude of the society towards “special” people – to the people with Down syndrome in particular.
The “Day of Goodness” in the amusement park on VDNKh has become the place for gathering of different people including guests with Down syndrome. There are a lot of people with creativity among them. A lot of people with Down syndrome has climbed Everest, has get university education, and has become prize winner of prestigious cinema awards (for instance, Pablo Pineda, who has received Silver Shell Award at San Sebastian International Film Festival for his performance in the film).
During the “Day of Goodness” at the Panoramic wheel on the VDNKh two engineers of Pax Group of Companies, who earned great reputation in the international market in the sphere of space equipment and amusement rides, were awarded with the Golden Medal after the name of V.G. Shukhov of the International Union of Scientific and Engineering Organizations. Many Russian celebrities sharing the ideals of kindness and humanity participated at the event: artists, TV presenters, delegates of the State Duma of Russian Federation, musicians, poets, producers and many other persons with children and grandchildren were among the guests.
The agenda of the “Day of Goodness” included the creation of “Wall of Goodness” with drawing thousands of little suns by all the guests…  A new record for the Guinness Book in the number of people hugging each other… Collective performance of the hymn of the holiday – “Sunny Circle” song…. Joint ride on the Panoramic Wheel…. Auction sale in favor of the children with Down syndrome, where the stars participating at the event exhibited their lots….
